Brick Breaker is a free browser game in the tradition of Breakout, the 1976 Atari cabinet, and Arkanoid, the 1986 arcade hit that added falling power-up capsules to the formula. The idea is simple enough to explain in one sentence and hard to put down: a wall of bricks sits at the top of the screen, a ball bounces around, and the only thing standing between it and the floor is the paddle you control.

Where the ball strikes the paddle decides where it goes next, so good players do not just block the ball — they aim it, steering shots into gaps to work the ball behind the wall where it can rattle around and clear rows on its own. Sturdier bricks take several hits, and some later ones cannot be broken at all, turning each level into a small puzzle about angles rather than a pure test of reflexes.

Falling capsules are the twist Arkanoid contributed to the genre and the reason no two runs feel the same: a wider paddle, a ball that splits into three, a paddle that shoots, a slower ball, a paddle that catches and re-aims — and, occasionally, a capsule that makes your paddle smaller, so grabbing everything that drops is not always the right call. Levels continue endlessly with new brick patterns and a faster ball, and your final score earns a 1-5 star rating and a place on this site's global leaderboard, ranked against every other player rather than saved only on your device.
