URL Encoder & Decoder

Encode or decode URL text, query values and complete links — privately, right in your browser.

URL text

Use URL component for search terms, parameters or text inside a link. Use Complete URL to keep its separators, or Form value for HTML form/query data.

Your text stays on this device; nothing is uploaded.

About URL encoding

URLs have a limited set of characters that can safely appear in every part of a web address. Percent-encoding represents other characters as UTF-8 bytes written with a percent sign and hexadecimal digits, allowing spaces, punctuation and text in many alphabets to travel reliably in a link.

Different URL parts follow different rules: a search term or query value is usually encoded as a component, while a complete address keeps separators such as slashes and question marks. HTML form values use a related convention in which spaces are commonly written as plus signs.

Encoding is not encryption and does not hide sensitive information. Use a URL encoder to prepare text for links, inspect encoded addresses, or recover readable text from percent-encoded input; review the resulting URL before sharing it.
